Tree of the Cosmos

Tree Brother

I whisper to you my brother

so no one else can hear

stillness of my wonderment

of you my giant oak

sitting proud and quiet,

a skyscraper of the cosmos.

No one knows but me

it’s you who stands

still after death to shade

this sun baked life I’ve lived.

No one knows but you.

Only death

can make a man a tree,

a tree amid forests,

amid the universe.
